Summary
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, is influenced by both physiological and psychological stress. Increased acute and chronic stress can elevate intraocular pressure (IOP), worsening conditions like primary open-angle and angle-closure glaucoma. Mindfulness practices may lower IOP and enhance mental health, improving quality of life for patients. Addressing socioeconomic and environmental stressors could further aid in better outcomes.
